Can you be from the North and still be country?

The use of Country is wide spread but it means,
"An area or expanse outside cities and towns"
I was raised on country influence. Surrounded by good God fearing Southern people who came to Michigan seeking jobs and a better life.
There is nothing as comforting as listening to good country Gospel music, downing Southern fried chicken and hand rolled biscuits! Now you have not eaten a real biscuit until you have had a hand rolled and baked to a golden brown, dipped in gravy  or smothered in home canned jam or honey. Having your hair rolled in rags to curl it  or running thru a cold stream barefoot.
Today I live in a suburb and I miss the crisp clean air, the star filled sky, big fluffy white clouds and the smell of  rain on the fresh grasses. The big bouquets of wildflowers and weeds  or smell of boiled coffee on a wood stove , often with a touch of chicory . Picking wild berries and crackin hickory nuts for cookies. .I especially miss the Gospel signs. The closest to it now is the "Gaither gospel Groups" recordings.
You all come and enjoy this quilt now! ya hear?
