Welcome
When my Daughter was very small, I taught her my love of
fishing. I know it was a good experience for her as well as me. We
not only shared my hobby but quality time together. It takes "guts" to
hook on bait and unhook fish , but it takes patience, to sit waiting. We
spent some wonderful times in the solitude of a lonely bridge, a pond shore and
sometimes in a boat. Our favorite spot was by an old abandoned cement factory,
where the stream was as clear as crystal glass
It gave us time to talk quietly uninterrupted by the noises of the city. It also provided time to relax, gather your thoughts,
reflect on things without all the outside distractions of the world. You'd be
surprised
what you can learn from your kids that they might never had talked about
otherwise. I am happy to say that although I cannot go with her now, she shares
the experience with her brother and they had made some great memories
together.
Watching them sputter the other day about lack of catch gave me the idea for
this
quilt. It is just meant to be fun.

The music on this page is a very old song I learned as a
child. Whenever
she heard me start humming or singing this she knew what was next. She was
right there ready with her pole and as she grew older she was the first on the
"hunt" bait.
the words are

You get a line and I'll get a pole
Honey ,
honey

You get a line and I'll get a pole
Babe,
Babe
You get a line and I'll get a pole
And we'll go fishing down at the crawdad hole
honey,
Baby,
Mine!
