"Racing through the pantry, sliding on the floors,
Hiding in the closets, slamming all the doors
How can a lady as little as you,
Raise such a rumpus and a hullabaloo?
Refrain
"Little Lulu, Little Lulu, with freckles on your chin,
Always in and out of trouble, but mostly always in.
Using Daddy's necktie for the tail on your kite,
Using Mommy's lipstick for the letters you write.
"Though the clock says 7:30, it's really after 10;
Looks like Lulu's been repairing it again.
Though you're wild as any Zulu,
And you're just as hard to tame,
Little Lulu, I love you-Lu just the same, just the same,
Little Lulu, I love you-Lu just the same."

Little Lulu is a comic strip character created by Marjorie Henderson
Buell. She signed her cartoons with the unpretentious “Marge”, but behind
the familiar name was an astute businesswoman and groundbreaker in female
cartooning. The creator of Little Lulu, Marjorie took her captivating
comic girl from a one-panel cartoon in 1935 into an international
marketing sensation, all the while keeping the rare option of creative
control for herself. February 2005 signaled Little Lulu’s 70th anniversary
of cartoon success.Marjorie’s signature became the single name of “Marge”.
By that time, Marjorie was 31 years old, married to C. Addison Buell in a
single panel comic
The mischievous, fun-loving Little Lulu debuted on the last page of the
prestigious Saturday Evening Post on February 23, 1935. a single panel
comic strip, appearing in her debut as a flower girl at a wedding,
strewing the aisle with banana peels. The strip ran until 1948.
In the mid-1940s, Lulu graduated to animated cartoons and comic books.
Famous Studios' animated Little Lulu short subjects are considered among
their best work, and were in production from 1943 until 1948, when a
clone, Little Audrey, was created to avoid having to pay Buell royalties.
She appeared in 10 issues of Dell Comics Four Color series (#74, 97, 110,
115, 120, 131, 139, 146, 158, 165) before graduating to her own title.
With the Dell Comics/Western Publishing split that created Gold Key
Comics, Little Lulu went to Gold Key, still being publishing until the
1980s.
Artist John Stanley's work on the Little Lulu comic book is highly
regarded. He did the initial Lulu comics, later working with artist Irv
Trip. He continued working on the comic until around 1961. Stanley is
responsible for the many additional characters in the stories. His work
has been collected in a series of hardcovers by Gladstone Comics in the
1980s.
Randy Henderson was the primary artist on the Little Lulu synidated comic
strip of the 1960's. The strip was never extremely success, though
Henderson did add his own unique touch to the strip.
Little Lulu was also hired as a spokestoon for Kleenex.

In 1995, Lulu again appeared in The Little Lulu Show, an animated
television series on HBO, this time voiced by Tracey Ullman.
Characters in the Little Lulu series include her friends Tubby Tompkins
(who later got his own short-lived series), Alvin, Ol' Witch Hazel, and
Li'l Itch. Lulu's last name is Moppet.
In 2004, Dark Horse Comics obtained the rights to reprint the classic
Little Lulu comics. They have published seven volumes so far, with several
more in the works.
Lulu was one of my all time favorites. I had some paper dolls and some
paper toys made from Kleenex boxes and s purse.
